Kalymnos one of the Greek Dodecanese island in the Aegean sea welcomed once more The North Face Climbing Festival.
Three days full of climbing activities open to any climber, plus the possibility to climb along with TNF athletes.
Kalymnos, una de las islas del Dodecaneso griego en el mar Egeo, recibió de nuevo el The North Face Climbing Festival.
Tres días llenos de actividades de escalada abiertas a cualquier escalador y la oportunidad de poder escalar junto a los atletas de TNF.
The festival base camp was at the Elena Village, here climbers enrolling in the climbing marathon.
El campo base del festival estaba en Elena Village, aquí escaladores inscribiéndose en el maratón de escalada.
This years special activity was the Day of the Leyends. 6 legendary climbers of the 80s and 90s worked together to climb 15 new routes ranging from 7a to 8b+. The chosen ones were Japan’s Yuji Hirayama, Austria’s Gerhard Hörhager, Spain’s Patxi Arocena, Great Britain’s Ben Moon, USA’s Boone Speed and France’s Jean-Baptiste Tribout, unfortunally the Italian Maurizio Zanolla “Manolo” could not make it.
The 15 new routes were equipped at the island of Telendos (part of Kalymnos), so the way to get there by boat!
La actividad especial de este año fue el Día de las Leyendas, 6 escaladores legendarios de la década de los 80 y 90 trabajaron juntos para escalar 15 nuevas rutas, con grados desde 7a a 8b+. Los seleccionados fueron el japones Yuji Hirayama, el austriaco Gerhard Hörhager, el español Patxi Arocena, el británico Ben Moon, el estadounidense Boone Speed y el frances Jean-Baptiste Tribout, desafortunadamente el italiano Maurizio Zanolla “Manolo” no pudo participar.
Las 15 nuevas rutas fueron equipadas en la isla de Telendos (parte de Kalymnos), por lo tanto la manera de llegar allí en barco!

Aproximadamente 40 min de caminata para llegar a los sectores.
- Once we got there the leyends were given the route details, until then they didn’t have any details of the routes.
Una vez llegamos al sector, las leyendas recibieron los croquis de las vías, hasta entonces no tenían ningún detalle sobre las vias.

- Time to leave Telendos, however the routes are left equipped to anyone who want to climb them.
Dejamos Telendos, no obstante las vías han quedado equipadas para cualquiera que las quiera escalar.
- Evenings at Elena Village where the place for the evening activities such as the trophy ceremony, leyends story telling, party….
Por las noches, Elena Village era el lugar para actividades como la entrega de trofeos, narrativa de historias por parte de las leyendas, fiesta….
The last day of the festival, turn to the psicobloc, and the best way to get to the port…… by bikes!!!
Ultimo día del festival,turno para el psicobloc, y la mejor manera para llegar al puerto….. en moto!!!
